IMPORTANTLY……PLEASE READ CAREFULLY & FULLY, Regarding MANDATORY National On-Line Team Registration(s)  and Coach Background Check(s), Including Other Key Information Topics, as described below.

CRITICAL Reminders…….In preparation for the 2013 CALB Summer Program, ASAP Please review and take Action on the following Requirements:

1.                  Register your CALB Team(s) Nationally On-Line.

Concerning the 2013 National On-Line American Legion Team Registration process, Please Note that our CALB Senior Legion B program will allow Non-Graduated H.S. 18 year-olds, with one year of documented remaining high school eligibility, Eligible to play under our Senior Legion B baseball Program. However, Senior graduates will not be allowed to play Legion B, But they may play in the Senior Legion A Program.  Likewise, Senior Legion A and B will continue to have separate State Tournaments. Visit 2013 American Legion Baseball Rules for more information on Senior & Junior Program(s).

When Registering Team(s) Nationally On-Line (Recommended By May 1, 2013):

Senior Legion A Teams: will need to Register as: Team Type – “Senior” and Class – “A”. For Team(s) with Players 19 & Under.

Senior Legion B Teams: will need to Register as: Team Type – “Senior” and Class – “B”.

For Team(s) that include Player(s) with Non-Graduated H.S. Senior(s) w/Eligible 18 Yr. Old(s).

Junior Legion C Teams: will need to Register as: Team Type – “Junior” and Class – “C”.

Junior Legion D Teams: will need to Register as: Team Type – “Junior” and Class – “D” (Incoming Freshmen Only)

2.         Submit Mandatory 2013 ALB/CALB Coaches Background Check. Visit www.calb.org.

Upon Team Registration Submittal….NOTE: ALL Coaches, Managers, Volunteers Listed on your Team Registration MUST EACH INDIVIDUALLY SUBMIT A BACKGROUND CHECK.

NOTE: ALL Coaches & Managers, as listed on your Nationally Registered Team(s) will be Required to EACH Complete & Submit to a Coaches Background Check. This MUST be fully completed, with “Passed” Compliance on All Coach Background Checks, BEFORE CALB can Approve your Team Registration(s).

3.         Mandatory Coach Attendance at 2013 CALB Team Registration & Scheduling Meeting(s).

Visit CALB Website (ww.calb.org) for Specific Legion A & B & Junior Legion C & D Meeting Date(s), E-News.

Team State Registration Fees, including Insurance and/or National Registration fee(s) are currently posted on CALB website (www.calb.org) E-News.

Each Team(s) Head Coach/Manager or Team Representative, having the ability to set game and field schedules, MUST be in attendance. Also, Full Payment of EACH Team(s) State Registration Fee(s) MUST be received at Each Team(s) respective Registration/Scheduling Meeting.

4.         Purchase Required S.A. Van Dyk Insurance (Accident & Liability).

Mandatory Insurance Payment, via Credit Card, Deadline is May 15, 2013.

NOTE: All Coach(s) Must have Completed, Submitted & Passed Coaches Background Check,  BEFORE Your Team(s) Insurance can be Purchased.

5.         Purchase Required CALB Patches

CALB Patch Order Forms will be available for Order & Payment at Each CALB Team Registration & Scheduling Meeting(s) or available on CALB Website (www.calb.org)  CALB Patches are: $2.00 Each and are Required Both for Coaches & Players for Regular League & Post-Season Tournament play.

The Colorado American Legion Baseball (CALB) Commission has recently set its Team Fees & Date(s) for the upcoming 2013 CALB Team Registration / Scheduling Meetings.

TEAM FEES – State Registration Fee will be PAYABLE by Each Team at Registration/Scheduling Meeting

Team Fees are:

Senior Program - $425.00 ($375.00 State Registration + $50.00 National Fee)

Junior Program (17 & Under) - $325.00 ($300.00 State Registration + $25.00 National Fee).

INSURANCE - S.A. VAN DYK FEES (Accident & Liability) – Payable On-Line by Credit Card Only; payment due by May 15, 2013 Deadline

Insurance Seasonal Team Fees are:

Senior Program – $305.00 + $10.00 Natl Admin Charge

Junior Program (17 & Under) - $240.00 + $10.00 Natl Admin Charge

TEAM REGISTRATION/SCHEDULING MEETINGS

Team Registration/Scheduling Meetings, with MANDATORY COACH/MANAGER Attendance, have been set, as follows:

Legion A (State-wide):  Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Longmont American Legion Post #32, 315 S. Bowen St., Longmont, CO 80501.

·         Legion A Team Registration/Scheduling will be in the MORNING; 9Am – 12 Noon.

Legion B (Front Range):  Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Longmont American Legion Post #32, 315 S. Bowen St., Longmont, CO 80501.

·         Legion B Team Registration/Scheduling will be in the AFTERNOON; 1Pm – 4 Pm.

Legion B (Mountain):  Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Gypsum Community Rec Center, Gypsum, CO 81637.

·         Legion B Team Registration/Scheduling will be in the AFTERNOON; 1Pm – 4 Pm.

Legion C (Front Range): Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Longmont American Legion Post #32, 315 S. Bowen St., Longmont, CO 80501.

·         Legion C Team Registration/Scheduling will be in the MORNING; 9Am – 12 Noon.

.Legion D (Front Range): Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Longmont American Legion Post #32, 315 S. Bowen St., Longmont, CO 80501.

·         Legion D Team Registration/Scheduling will be in the AFTERNOON; 1Pm – 4Pm.

In the event of Adverse Weather Conditions/details & update(s) will be posted on CALB Website www.calb.org.

NOTE:  Should there be any other Team Registration/Scheduling Meeting(s) necessary, to serve teams  interested in developing CALB League(s) outside the Front Range and West Slope, they will be announced and posted on CALB Web Site Home Page.

State Senior Legion “B” Tournament (Metro & Northern):

Host: Woodland Park Legion Post 1980 Baseball, Woodland Park, CO; Dates: Thursday, July 25 – Sunday, July 28, 2013, with “if game” Monday, July 29, 2013.

State Senior Legion “B” Tournament (Mountain & Eastern):

Host: Summit Tigers American Legion Baseball, Frisco, CO; Dates: Thursday, July 25 – Sunday, July 28, 2013, with “if game” Monday, July 29, 2013.

State Junior Legion “C” Tournament:

Host: Brighton Bulldogs Post 2002, Brighton, CO; Dates: Thursday, July 25 – Sunday, July 28, 2013, with “if game” Monday, July 29, 2013.

State Junior Legion “D” Tournament: Host:

For Your Information…..

Beginning in January 2013, ALL Coaches participating in American Legion Baseball Program will be required to submit to a Coaches Background Check.

As the exclusive background screening provider chosen by The American Legion, Protect Youth Sports will conduct annual background checks. All Coaches and Managers of Junior and Senior American Legion Baseball teams are mandated to implement risk management procedures that include conducting Background Check screening through Protect Youth Sports.

Details and Procedures will be posted on CALB Website, with a specific Link for CALB Coaches & Managers.
